On 5 March 2026, a shunter was delivered to the Tuatapere Railway Station site, adding a seriously cool new piece to Tuatapere’s growing rail precinct.
I photographed the delivery and placement from start to finish, including the lift and the behind-the-scenes moments as it was positioned on site. If you’re into local history, machinery, rail gear, or just watching something big get moved with precision (and a bit of stress), this was a good day.
